Messaging and expressing interest

Every deal on BusinessOffers starts with a conversation, and every conversation starts with someone expressing interest in an offer. This guide walks through how that works, whether you have an account or not.

Expressing interest

When you find an offer that fits, expressing interest is how you open a private conversation with the person who posted it. It signals that you'd like to talk and starts a message thread between the two of you.

From there, you message back and forth to work out details — specifications, terms, whatever the deal needs.

How messaging works

  • Conversations are private, between you and the other party.
  • They happen on the platform. Your email and phone number aren't shared; the messaging system is how you stay in touch without handing over your personal contact details before you're ready.
  • You'll be notified when you have a new message, so you don't have to keep checking. If you've been recently active, we won't email you about a message you've already seen — the notifications are there to catch the ones you'd otherwise miss.
  • Your messages are kept on record in your inbox, so you have a history of what was discussed. (Administrators can view messages for safety and moderation — see our resource on how moderation and privacy work.)

Contacting a poster without an account

You don't need to register to make first contact. If you find an offer and want to reach the poster:

  • Use guest contact and provide your email and message.
  • Verify your email by clicking the link we send you. This confirms the message is really from you before it's delivered — it protects everyone from spam and impersonation.
  • Once verified, your message is delivered to the poster, who can reply.
  • You'll get a link to read their reply and continue the conversation, and you can return to your messages later by confirming your email again.

If you decide you want the full experience — posting your own offers, keeping everything in one inbox — you can create an account with the same email, and your earlier conversation comes with you.

What to expect

  • Replies take time. Businesses are busy; give people a reasonable window to respond before following up.
  • Keep early conversations on-platform. It keeps your contact details private and your discussion on record until you've established trust. (Our Staying Safe resources explain why this matters.)
  • Be clear and professional. The same clarity that makes a good offer makes a good message — say what you mean, ask what you need to know, and keep it businesslike.

Not interested in further messages?

If a conversation isn't one you want to continue, you can mute it. The other party won't be able to keep messaging you on that thread. You're always in control of your own conversations.
